Featured Love Story
“All You Need is LOVE.” is a song you’ll hear being played throughout Leah and John’s house and a song that helped shape their wedding day.
I met Leah 10 years ago when we danced together at North Texas and we’ve been best friends ever since. When she asked me to be her bridal, fashion, and event stylist, I immediately accepted with a high pitched, “Obviously!!” Soon after, she flew out to NY for a bridal filled marathon of appointments, shopping, and champagne! We had fun trying on dresses all over the city, but I knew the one for her was at Nicole Miller. Leah had a few prerequisites for her gown- definitely NOT strapless, no ballgowns, no train, and comfortable – Ever Swoon mission accepted. Leah’s features are like those of a classic Hollywood movie star, and I needed a dress that would complement her glamorous look and also meet her dress requests. I had in mind an off the shoulder, crinkle, signature Nicole Miller metal gown paired with dark and sultry eyeshadow and makeup, simple diamond accessories, and a sleek classic low bun. She loved it, I swooned, and let’s just say there wasn’t one dry eye at the ceremony!
There are lots more styling details to share besides the dress, but I’ll let you get to swooning over these pictures first and share some details throughout.
Leah and John are full of life and spirit, so a colorful wedding palette was the perfect complement to their love story.

A color was assigned to each bridesmaids who chose their own shoe to match. Vivi Gray Design designed bouquets to match the color for each bridesmaid.
Swooning in the rain.
Keep swooning after the jump..
The rain dampered the plans for the outdoor wedding in the garden of the venue. Fortunately, the art space made for an intimate ceremony setting.
The bridesmaids wore Dessy Twist wrap dresses. I was on hand wrapping away, making sure each girl had their own style.
The bride and groom can really rock out, as music is a huge part of their life. We decided to use quotes from various “love” inspired songs in place of table numbers. The guests really enjoyed reading the different quotes on each table.
It came as no surprise, to anyone, that my table’s song was Michael Jackson’s, “The way you make me feel.” :)

Well.. hum… We’re pretty laid back and have 2 cats.
We meet at North Texas in 2001. We were just acquaintances for about 3 yrs until we had a class together. The first day of that class, he stood up in the middle of lecture and walked in front of the professor and came and sat down next to me.
I came home from work and opened the front door and there were flowers everywhere and he was standing there with the ring in his hand.
I wanted it to be fun, inexpensive, and not what everyone else does. It was supposed to be an outside garden wedding but it rained all weekend, and some of my favorite pictures are the ones with the umbrella.
