ever swoon wedding || Caroline & Wooin – teaser video

official ever swoon

This email made my day.

“….We got our videos and I thought you might want to see the short one :)

I still can’t thank you enough for all that you did for us! And I still miss our daily emails haha. Take care, and give Bella a rub for me!!”

This video by the talented Alexandra Meseke makes me smile from ear to ear!! I absolutely adore this couple and hold them and their wedding very close to my heart.  The bride, Caroline, is as sweet as the song, and her husband is a true gentleman.  It was an absolute pleasure working with them, and it was incredibly fulfilling to see them enjoy the entire planning process.

They signed with me in April of last year and wanted an outdoor wedding with a tented reception in the Hudson Valley for 300 guests the following September.  That is a 6 month timeline with a goal at the peak of wedding season.  That’s what I call a swoon-worthy challenge! We went full swoon ahead, and it all came together on September 22, 2012, on the beautiful property of Monteverde at Oldstone, on the Hudson River.

Thank you to Caroline and Wooin for allowing me to be a part of that special day and special time in your lives!  Bella and I miss you both.

Inspiration Photo Shoot | Oz, the Great and Powerful

Wedding Inspiration

Big, Big day!  Last month I worked with a fabulous team to create a photo shoot inspired by Oz, the Great and Powerful.  I’m thrilled because it is featured on Green Wedding Shoes today!

It’s been difficult swooning in secret, so I’m thrilled I finally get to share our work.  Below is a fabulous little video of the shoot by the talented Courtney of Love Brain Films.

When the team originally met, we were thinking of going with a 30′s inspired theme for the shoot.  I was blown away by the trailer for the new movie Oz and how it was 20′s/30′s inspired.  I pictured a shoot that was rich with glamour with an organic feel using flowers and decor to create living art.  I proposed using lots of lush ferns that naturally spilled over edges.  I chose to use a bar cart to display the cake and signature drinks.  I wanted to use a piece of furniture that the couple could bring home and use for a lifetime of special occasions.  The goal was to create an illuminated experience/ event – so we mixed shiny/ metallic golds with an abundance or greenery to bring each detail to life.

I will be sharing the team’s “creative process” and details about the shoot next week along with the pictures.

In the mean time, I’d like to give a BIG thank you to the amazing and talented team who brought the photo shoot to life.  I’m inspired by their talents, innovative ideas, and spirited engagement in making this shoot incredibly special.  I’m in awe of their work and honored to have collaborated with them.  xoxo
